Kelab Squash Elit Astaka Organizes ‘Sport For All’

20 May 2017 : As part of its corporate social responsibility initiative, Kumpulan Perangsang Selangor Berhad had organised a squash clinic for special needs children under the Sports For All programme. The programme will be held for 6 months where 8 talented students will be selected to further develop their talents.

 

25 students from the Inclusive Outdoor Classroom (IOC) community project were given the opportunity to learn about squash with elite players from the Kelab Skuasy Elit Astaka (KSEA) held at the Astaka Sports Complex in Petaling Jaya. The participants, ranging from 4 to 23 years of age were taken through a range of activities aimed at imparting the fundamentals of coordination and timing which are essential not only in racquet sports but also daily activities.

 

The objective of the programme was to expose the children to sports activities and giving them the opportunity to interact with the society.

SMK Dato' Harun Champions Of Dato' Mokhtar Dahari Cup 2017

20 May 2017 : In the final match of Dato’ Mokhtar Dahari’s Cup sponsored by Kumpulan Perangsang Selangor Berhad (Perangsang Selangor) SMK Dato’ Harun emerged as the winner by defeating SMK Saujana Impian 3-1 at Subang Jaya Municipal council (MPSJ) Stadium. As champions, SMK Dato’ Harun took home a cash prize of RM10,000, medal and trophy while SMK Saujana Impian received cash prize of RM7,000 and medal as runner-up. Meanwhile, SMK Kajang took third place with a cash prize of RM5,000 and medal after defeating SMK Rahman Putra in fourth place with RM3,000 and medal.

 

The prizes were presented by the His Royal Highness Tengku Amir Shah ibni Sultan Sharafuddin Idris Shah Al-Haj, The Raja Muda of Selangor witnessed by the Main Committee Chairman of Dato’ Mokhtar Dahari’s Cup Football Championship, Datuk Emran Kadir, Perangsang Selangor Board of Director, Mustaffa Kamil Ayub, Perangsang Selangor Chief Operating Officer, Suzila Khairuddin as well as Deputy Director Selangor State Education Department, officials from Majlis Perbandaran Subang Jaya (MPSJ), Selangor Football Association (SFA), Petaling Pedana and Petaling Utama District Education Office, parents and spectators.

 

The tournament was participated by thirty-two (32) secondary schools under 10 education offices from every district in Selangor. In addition, a total of 160 players and teachers participated in a seminar on ‘career as a professional footballer’ aimed to provide an overview as a professional football player.The tournament has also become a field to unleash young football talents to represent the Selangor team in particular and Malaysia in general one day. Through last year’s championship, 43 players have been signed by 19 state and clubs, including Selangor, PKNS, Johor Darul Takzim JDT), Kuala Lumpur, Perak, Malacca and Negeri Sembilan.

1st Series ‘Karnival Inisiatif Peduli Rakyat’

Kumpulan Selangor Perangsang Berhad in collaboration with Yayasan Hijrah Selangor (Hijrah Selangor) and Majlis Bandaraya Petaling Jaya (MBPJ) organised the ‘Karnival Inisiatif Peduli Rakyat’ which was launched by Dato‘ Seri Mohamed Azmin Ali, Selangor Menteri Besar at Giant Supermarket, Kota Damansara.

 

Among the objective of the programme is to create awareness on the 38 initiatives initiated by the Selangor State Government under the ‘Inisiatif Peduli Rakyat’ previously known as the People Based Economy programme. In line with the ‘State Revenue for the People’ agenda, the main focus of these programmes are to improve the quality of life for the people of Selangor by providing assistance through the agencies involved such as ‘Skim Peduli Sihat, ‘Hadiah Pengajian IPT’, ‘Tabung Warisan Anak Selangor (TAWAS)’, ‘Skim Mesra Usia Emas (SMUE)’, Hijrah Scheme, Free Water Supply for the first 20 cubic meter, Selangor People’s Tuition Programme and Selangor Smart Bus. In addition, the carnival creates a platform for strategic partnerships between Perangsang Selangor, Hijrah, MBI, mass media, local authorities and other government agencies in Selangor.

 

YAB Dato’ Menteri Besar also presented the ‘Inisiatif Peduli Rakyat’ assistance amounting to over RM6.2 million to 682 recipients comprising 267 participants of the Selangor Hijrah Scheme (RM2.6 million), 180 People’s Religious Schools under the Selangor State School Assistance Programme (RM3.6 million), 100 ‘Skim Peduli Sihat’ (RM50,000), 100 Smart Food Stamp (RM5,000) and 35 ‘Program Khas Peduli Siswa’, while 50 senior citizens received cash and daily necessities worth RM15,000 under the ‘Program Tautan Kasih’ sponsored by MBPJ.

 

At the same event, MBPJ also launched a ‘Recycle Bag’ Campaign by distributing 150 bags of recycle sacks to the public in an effort to raise awareness and encourage the public to preserve the environment.

 

More than 2,000 visitors have thronged the Inisiatif Peduli Sihat with various activities such as kenduri rakyat, free health checks, and counter for ‘Bantuan Peduli Rakyat’, People’s Handicraft exhibits, sports activities as well as special performance by local artists.

Dato’ Mohktar Dahari Cup 2017

3 May 2017 : The Dato’ Mokhtar Dahari Cup Football Championship witnessed a total of 576 players representing 32 teams from nine districts throughout Selangor to contest for the fourth edition of the championship.

 

The opening ceremony was officiated by Selangor State Education Deputy Director, Shashim Shah Harun and attended by Chairman of the Championship, Datuk Emran Kadir and Board of Director of Perangsang Selangor, Mustaffa Kamil Ayub at SMK USJ 23, Subang Jaya.

 

“The main objective of the tournament is to identify and unearth young football talents so that they can be featured as state players and restore the glory of Selangor football team and Malaysia one day”, said Datuk Emran.

 

A total of 43 players have been tied up by under 19 state and football clubs including Selangor, PKNS, Johor Darul Takzim (JDT), Kuala Lumpur, Perak, Malacca and Negeri Sembilan. The 2017 edition involved students under the age of 18 years old from 10 district education offices throughout Selangor selected by District Schools Sports Council (MSSD).

 

Perangsang Selangor became the tournament’s main sponsor for the fourth consecutive year with a sponsorship of RM150,000 and 8 team jerseys for all quarter-finalists. The tournament champion will receive a cash prize of RM10,000 as well as medals, certificates, championship trophy while the runners-up will receive RM7,000, medals and certificates. Third and fourth place winners will receive RM5,000 and RM3,000 respectively with medals and certificates. In addition, there are also other awards given such as Best Player, Top Scorer, Best Goalkeeper and Best Supporting Team.

 

In conjunction with this year’s tournament, the organisers also conducted a Malaysian Professional Footballers’ Self-Management and Career Management Seminar to give an early exposure to Selangor youth footballers about the career and future of the sport.

Perangsang Selangor through its Public Relations, Media and Corporate Social Responsibility Department (PRMC) featured in a live interview with Astro Arena’s Forum channel to promote the Selangor Sports Stimulus (RSS) programmes which have been planned for year 2017. The programmes that will be implemented include eight types of sports such as bowling, swimming, cycling, archery, squash, sepak takraw and football.

 

Perangsang Selangor through its Public Relations, Media and Corporate Social Responsibility Department (PRMC) featured in a live interview with Astro Arena’s Forum channel to promote the Selangor Sports Stimulus (RSS) programmes which have been planned for year 2017. The programmes that will be implemented include eight types of sports such as bowling, swimming, cycling, archery, squash, sepak takraw and football.

 

Since 2014, the RSS programme has managed to attract a total of 13,831 participants through 103 programmes that have been implemented throughout the state of Selangor involving contributions worth more than RM4.3 million.

Amal Insani Exhibition

In conjunction with the World Autism Awareness Day, National Visual Arts Development Board (LPSVN) organised the ‘Amal Insani’ Ehxibition as a sign of support and to foster awareness among the public as well as providing support for autism children. This exhibition is a collaboration between Nouri’s Autism Support Initiative (INSANI) and the Malaysian Artpot Community Organisation (Artpot Community). A total of 47 works of art created by 35 participating artists in various themes were exhibited in the Creative Space @ National Portrait Gallery for fundraising purpose and all collections were channeled back to autism children fund for their future development.
