3 May 2017 : The Dato’ Mokhtar Dahari Cup Football Championship witnessed a total of 576 players representing 32 teams from nine districts throughout Selangor to contest for the fourth edition of the championship.

 

The opening ceremony was officiated by Selangor State Education Deputy Director, Shashim Shah Harun and attended by Chairman of the Championship, Datuk Emran Kadir and Board of Director of Perangsang Selangor, Mustaffa Kamil Ayub at SMK USJ 23, Subang Jaya.

 

“The main objective of the tournament is to identify and unearth young football talents so that they can be featured as state players and restore the glory of Selangor football team and Malaysia one day”, said Datuk Emran.

 

A total of 43 players have been tied up by under 19 state and football clubs including Selangor, PKNS, Johor Darul Takzim (JDT), Kuala Lumpur, Perak, Malacca and Negeri Sembilan. The 2017 edition involved students under the age of 18 years old from 10 district education offices throughout Selangor selected by District Schools Sports Council (MSSD).

 

Perangsang Selangor became the tournament’s main sponsor for the fourth consecutive year with a sponsorship of RM150,000 and 8 team jerseys for all quarter-finalists. The tournament champion will receive a cash prize of RM10,000 as well as medals, certificates, championship trophy while the runners-up will receive RM7,000, medals and certificates. Third and fourth place winners will receive RM5,000 and RM3,000 respectively with medals and certificates. In addition, there are also other awards given such as Best Player, Top Scorer, Best Goalkeeper and Best Supporting Team.

 

In conjunction with this year’s tournament, the organisers also conducted a Malaysian Professional Footballers’ Self-Management and Career Management Seminar to give an early exposure to Selangor youth footballers about the career and future of the sport.

23 August 2017 : The final series of badminton clinic for senior citizens under Perangsang Selangor’s Sports for All programme was held at Champion Arena Badminton Hall, Kg Sungai Kayu Ara, Petaling Jaya. A total of 45 senior citizens aged between 46 to 74 years from Selangor participated in the programme. A total of 4 badminton clinics for senior citizens have been conducted by former national player, Jason Wong this year.

13-20 February 2017 : The Selangor People Career Stimulus (SPCS) programme for 2016 ended with Food Preparation (Cendol and Laksa) training programme conducted by Hijrah Training and Management at Hijrah and Management Training Center, Seksyen 20, Shah Alam. 30 participants attended the 8 days course which include theoretical and practical sessions.

 

The participants learned the right way to prepare cendol and laksa, visited a stall owned by a former SPCS participant, exposed to entrepreneurship skills such as marketing technique and business plan as well as the relevant process and procedures in dealing with local authorities. The programme received sponsorship worth RM55,380 from Perangsang Selangor.

10 October 2017 : The 30th edition of Raja Muda of Selangor Football Championship was officially launched by Perangsang Selangor’s Chief Operating Officer, Suzila Khairuddin witnessed by the Organising Chairman, YDH Dato’ Emran Kadir. In total, 576 players under the age of 12 representing 32 schools from the Petaling Perdana and Petaling Utama district will be taking part in this year’s tournament. Perangsang Selangor emerged as the main sponsor for the 5th time in a row with a total sponsorship of RM100,000.

17 November 2017 : The State of Selangor in collaboration with Perangsang Selangor, Yayasan Hijrah Selangor (Hijrah Selangor) and Hulu Selangor District Office (MDHS) organised the 3rd series of ‘Karnival Inisiatif Peduli Rakyat (IPR)’ which was officiated by YB Tuan Amirudin Shari, Selangor State EXCO, at Tapak Pasar Malam, Bukit Sentosa, Bukit Beruntung, Hulu Selangor. A total of 160 recipients received IPR contributions worth more than RM700,000 during the event. The carnival is to promote the 42 IPR assistance under the Selangor State Government. More than 2000 people from all walks of life attended the carnival.

20 May 2017 : As part of its corporate social responsibility initiative, Kumpulan Perangsang Selangor Berhad had organised a squash clinic for special needs children under the Sports For All programme. The programme will be held for 6 months where 8 talented students will be selected to further develop their talents.

 

25 students from the Inclusive Outdoor Classroom (IOC) community project were given the opportunity to learn about squash with elite players from the Kelab Skuasy Elit Astaka (KSEA) held at the Astaka Sports Complex in Petaling Jaya. The participants, ranging from 4 to 23 years of age were taken through a range of activities aimed at imparting the fundamentals of coordination and timing which are essential not only in racquet sports but also daily activities.

 

The objective of the programme was to expose the children to sports activities and giving them the opportunity to interact with the society.

Since 2014, the RSS programme has managed to attract a total of 13,831 participants through 103 programmes that have been implemented throughout the state of Selangor involving contributions worth more than RM4.3 million.

26 September 2017 : Perangsang Selangor, under RKRS Skill Training Programme orgnised Livestock Skills Training: Business Plan and Livestock Feed Formulations to 30 new entrepreneurs in Selangor to enhance their entrepreneurship skills in livestock industry. The 4-day training programme was conducted by MJ Fatonah Sdn Bhd at Akademi MJ Fatonah, Kampung Teluk Penyamun, Kuala Selangor.

21 July 2017 : Perangsang Selangor through its Corporate Social Responsibility Unit contributed financial aid worth RM25,600 to 16 organisations which include schools, associations, mosque and surau. The contribution was presented by Zain Azrai Zainal Abidin, Chief Financial Officer at Board Room, Plaza Perangsang. Each recipient received financial contribution between RM1,000 to RM2,000.

23 March 2017 : Kumpulan Perangsang Selangor Bhd (Perangsang Selangor) redistributed a total of RM 86,500 to 32 ‘fisabilillah’ and less fortunate recipients.

 

The business tithe contribution is the second series of redistribution of 3/8 tithe totaling RM257,572.92 to 19 university students who are pursuing studies in local and overseas institutions in the field of Islamic studies, medicine, computers and mathematics, 11 less fortunate individuals and 2 institutions namely Akademi Tahfiz Mandarin Pulau Ketam and Al-Maahad Tahfiz Fityan.

 

The donations are intended to reduce their financial burden who among them are single mothers, people suffering from diseases such as brain and kidney cancer, senior citizens and students from underprivileged families.

4 August 2017 : Perangsang Selangor presented financial aid worth RM10,000 to Masjid Al Islah, Batu 10, Pulau Meranti to refurbish and upgrade the mosque’s facilities. The contribution was handed over by YAB Dato’ Seri Mohamed Azmin Ali, Dato’ Mentei Besar Selangor in conjuction with ‘Program Turun Padang’ at the Sepang district. He also presented the Notice 5A to 45 residents of Kampung Sri Tanjong, Hijrah Scheme to 62 participants worth RM710,000, ‘Skim Peduli Sihat’ medical cards as well as Foodstamp assistance to the local community.

5-6 August 2017 : A total of 112 under 18 youths from the Petaling District participated in the Perangsang Selangor Sepak Takraw League organised by Kelab Masyarakat Bola Rotan under the Sports for All programme at Sekolah Sukan Seksyen 11, Shah Alam.

15 December 2017 : Perangsang Selangor sponsored 1,000 tickets worth RM5,000 for the Sinar4Rohingya Charity Football Match between Smart Selangor/Sinar Harian Selection and Super Lawak FC organised by Menteri Besar Incorporated (MBI), Sinar Harian and Kelab Generasi Sahabat Dinamik Malaysia (GENESIS). Azwan Azmi, Associate Director of Human Resource and Administration, presented the tickets on behalf of Perangsang Selangor.

10 November 2017 : Perangsang Selangor presented eight sets of jerseys to all quarter-finalist teams of HRH Raja Muda of Selangor Football Championship. The ceremony was held at Karangkraf Studio, Shah Alam. The 8 teams are namely SK Section 20, SRAI Section 19, SK Section 24, SK Subang Bestari (2), SK Perdana Jaya SS19, SK Lembah Subang, SK Petaling Jaya and SK Sungai Way.

7-8 Sept 2017 : 34 staff of Perangsang Selangor were given free ‘bekam’ (cupping) treatment as part of Corporate Social Responsibility to its staff. The treatment was done by appointed treatment House of Bekam.

 

This programme was organised to provide exposure and to promote the participants who have attended the Clinical Cupping course under the Selangor People Career Stimulus as part of Corporate Social Responsibility (CSR) initiative of Perangsang Selangor.
