'Kampung Desa Kasih’ Community Programme

14 - 15 August 2016 : Perangsang Selangor in collaboration with thePertubuhan Kebajikan Penyayang Darul Ehsan organised a Community Programme with less fortunate families of Kampung Desa Kasih, Parit 8½ Sungai Besar, Selangor. The programme was aimed to foster a caring relationship between the less fortunate families with Perangsang Selangor staff.

The two-days programme was participated by 60 Perangsang Cycling Team (PCT) cyclists and family members. The Community Programme began with a briefing by Halim Mohamed Redzuan, Secretary of Pertubuhan Kebajikan Penyayang Darul Ehsan, a Non-Governmental Organisation (NGO) active in Selangor, followed by an opening speech by Rusnan Ismail, Kampung Desa Kasih Village Chief. Rusnan said, “Once, there were about 93 less fortunate families who received assistance from government agencies and NGOs.Now there are only 40 less fortunate families who are still receiving assistance living in Kampung Desa Kasih mostly from the Javanese and Banjar ancestry”.

The programme continued with a Medical Visit and House Cleaning activity to five less fortunate, disabled and senior citizen homes where Perangsang Selangor also presented daily necessities contribution worth RM50.

Later in the evening a Religious Talk presented by Ustaz Ehsan Yassin, Imam from Parit 10 Mosque, Sungai Besar was held at Surau Desa Kasih sharing general and conscious topics. After Isyak prayers, the programme was graced by poetry performances delivered by the villagers and representatives from Perangsang Selangor. The ceremony concluded with a dinner and street soccer game. On the second day, a fishing competition was held at a nearby canal, followed by sports and collaborative cooking activities among the villagers.

Also present Mustaffa Kamil Ayub, Board Member of Perangsang Selangor who presented the tele-match, street soccer, fishing competition prizes as well as contribution on behalf of Perangsang Selangor to 40 less fortunate families from the village.

The programme ended with a ‘Nasi Ambeng’ feast for all guests. The Community Programme at Kampung Desa Kasih received sponsorship worth RM20,000 from Perangsang Selangor presented by Mohd Fauzi Mohd Ghazali, Senior Manager, Corporate Social Responsibility to Halim Mohamed Redzuan who also originated from the village.

19 November 2016 : Supershakz Swim School has organised the Selangor Swimming Championships 1st Novice Meet as part of Corporate Social Responsibility’s Sports for All programme sponsored by Perangsang Selangor.

The programme was held on 19 November 2016 at Darul Ehsan Aquatic Centre in Shah Alam had attracted 606 primary school students between 8 to 12 years of age.

Collaboration Program Between Perangsang Selangor With Yayasan Hijrah Selangor On Entrepreneurship Development Programme 2016

Perangsang Selangor kicked off its collaboration programme with Yayasan Hijrah Selangor which focused on further developing entrepreneurship programme in Selangor. This pilot programme, took part from September until December 2016, benefitted 120 entrepreneurs all over Selangor through 4 entrepreneurial skill training courses; Post Natal Treatment (Mobile Spa service), Bakery, Flash Stamp Printing and Tailoring.

There were two phases of development involved; phase one is Zero to Hero which involve entrepreneurial technical skill training sponsored by Perangsang Selangor and then followed by a business loan scheme consist of purchasing machinery and raw material provided by Yayasan Hijrah Selangor. Thenceforth, entrepreneurs will being assisted in soft skills enhancement in second phase, Road to Success which focuses on Foundation in Business & Accounting management. The soft skills training has been held in Suunah Kekabu Resot and Hotel, Shah Alam. Perangsang Selangor sponsored sum of RM210,000 to support this programme.

This collaboration has been tied up on effort to further assisting entrepreneurs in Selangor in line with the state government’s agenda – Inisiatif Peduli Rakyat. The programme, concentrates on the sustainability of new and existing entrepreneurs through skills training, following with loan assistance to develop their business. Besides, this collaboration also focuses on creating networking system amongst entrepreneurs in Selangor to share their information on business and opportunities.

Perangsang Selangor Appreciating The Poor And Disabled

Perangsang Selangor in collaboration with Pertubuhan Kebajikan Darul Ehsan organised a community programme with the less fortunate and disabled at Kampung Sungai Limau Kalumpang The programme intended to strengthen the ties between the less fortunate, disabled and Perangsang Selangor through healthy and beneficial activities. Various activities were organised such as football competitions, bocer, sports and communal work.

The programme was sponsored by Perangsang Selangor through contribution worth of RM20,000 which was presented by Mohd Fauzi Mohd Ghazali, Senior Manager, Corporate Social Responsibility to Halim Mohamed Redzuan, Secretary of Pertubuhan Kebajikan Darul Ehsan,a NGO actively involved in the state of Selangor. The two-days programme involved 50 people with disabilities including trainers, volunteers Perangsang Cycling Team (PCT) and family members.

26 May 2016 : Kumpuan Perangsang Selangor Berhad (Perangsang Selangor) through its Corporate Social Responsibility unit contributed financial aid worth RM19,000 to 17 non-governmental organisations (NGOs), charity organisations, schools, mosque and the widow to the late Jasri Abdul Rahman, Konsortium ABASS’ staff who passed away on 19 Mac 2016. The contribution was presented by Mohd Fauzi Mohd Ghazali, Senior Manager of Corporate Social Responsibility, Perangsang Selangor at Kayangan 5, Plaza Perangsang. Each recipient received financial contribution between RM1,000 to RM2,000.

3 October 2016 : The Main Committee of HRH Raja Muda Selangor in collaboration with the District Education Office Petaling Perdana and Petaling Utama as well as Perangsang Selangor organised the 29th Raja Muda of Selangor’s Cup Football Championship on 3 to 22 October 2016.

The 2016’s edition involved a total of 576 football players under 12 years old representing 20 schools under the administration of PPD Petaling Perdana and 12 schools from PPD Petaling Utama to identify and unearth young football players in Selangor.

Mustafa Kamil Ayub, Perangsang Selangor CSR Director presented the prize to the winner of Charity Shield match, SK Section 20 who defeated SK Seksyen 18 with 5-0 scoreline.

The winner of this year’s championship will receive a cash prize of RM4,000, medal and trophy, runner-up RM3,000 and medal, RM2,000 and RM1,000 for 3rd and 4th place with medal respectively.

25 April 2016 : Kumpulan Perangsang Selangor Berhad (Perangsang Selangor) was recognised as 'Friends of Library’ by the Selangor Public Library Corporation (SPLC) over a cash donation worth RM1.3 million in 2012 and for the upgrading of eight district libraries and books contributions. Mohd Fauzi Mohd Ghazali, Senior Manager, Corporate Social Responsibility, Perangsang Selangor received the certificate of appreciation on behalf of Perangsang Selangor presented by The Right Honorable Dato’ Seri Mohamed Azmin Ali, Dato’ Menteri Besar of Selangor at the launching of 'Lets Read Together For 10 Minutes’ programme held at the Raja Tun Uda Library, Section 13, Shah Alam. YB Halimah, Selat Kelang Assemblyman, Mastura Muhamad, Director of SPLC and Datin Shamsidar Taharin, wife of Dato’ Menteri Besar also attended the ceremony.

The 'Lets Read Together For 10 Minutes’ programme was organised in conjunction with World Book Day, an annual event organised by the National Library of Malaysia (NLM) in collaboration with the State Library (SL), Malaysia Librarians Association (MLA), Council Malaysia Library Directors Council (MLDC), Ministry of Education and State Education Department.

“The program was held simultaneously in 14 states by targeting more than 2.6 million entries from all ages and walks of life. The programme had also been expanded to the national level in 2014 due to SPLC’s efforts and creative idea aimed to cultivate a reading culture among the public”, said Mastura.

22 - 23 October 2016 : The Sepak takraw sport received a boost through the Perangsang Selangor Dreams Trio Programme which will be held for 6 months beginning October 2016 until February 2017 across 9 districts in Selangor.

On the 22 to 23 October 2016, the first edition of Dreams Trio programme was held at the Dewan Kiambang, Majlis Bandaraya Shah Alam which saw the Petaling district opened this unique program with 50 participants to promote sepak takraw to all walks of life and to lead a healhty lifestyle other than to elevate the sports tradition in the state in particular.

RKRS 2016 Programme – Livestock Training Programme

Livestock training programme 2016 has been implemented started from 27th until 30th December 2016 at MJ Fatonah Entrepreneurs Academy, Kampung Teluk Penyamun, Bestari Jaya, Selangor.

There were 30 selected entrepreneurs from all over Selangor which are unemployed, pensioners and self-employed have completed their 4 nights and 3 days theoretical and practical training in livestock industry. Perangsang Selangor has sponsored sum of RM45,000 as initiative under Selangor People Career Stimulus Programme (RKRS) in 2016.

12 April 2016 : Subsequent to the outstanding achievements throughout the sponsorship by Kumpulan Perangsang Selangor Berhad (Perangsang Selangor) in year 2014 and 2015, two Selangor elite cyclists, Zamirul Adlisham Zulkefli, 18, and Muhsin Al Redha Misbah, 19, were selected for an interview session with the National News Agency of Malaysia (BERNAMA). The interview session which was coordinated by the Public Relations Media and CSR (PRMC) department took place at the Selangor MSN Sports Centre, Section 16 Shah Alam.

Zamirul claimed the runner-up title at the Bukit Raja Cycling Championship, Bukit Banjaran Titiwangsa 2014 and Selangor Sports Championship (MINI SUKSES 2014). In addition, he also won 3rd place in the National Junior Track Cycling Championships Circuit 3/2014 and clinched bronze medal at the Shah Alam Creterium Race 2015. Meanwhile Muhsin Al Redha have won the runner-up title in the 2015 Lomba Customs Cycling Race (LCCR) Championship 18 series in Indonesia, a silver medal in Creterium Series 1/2015 Championship and managed to clinch bronze medal in the Lomba Custom Cycling Race (LCCR) 19 series in Indonesia.

Both athletes were trained under Selangor Sports Stimulus (SSS) sports development programme in collaboration with the Selangor Cyclist Associations. Selangor cyclist coach, Mahadzir Hamad and other elit cyclist were present during the interview.

5 April 2016 : The Public Relations Media and CSR (PRMC) department organised a series of exclusive interview between the Malaysian National News Agency (BERNAMA) with Selangor Entrepreneurship Stimulus (SES) participants sponsored by Kumpulan Perangsang Selangor Berhad (Perangsang Selangor).

Our first destination was located at Asyarif Bazaar, Masjid Lama Meru, Klang where we visited a stall owned by entrepreneur Nor Salmi Darman, a single mother aged 39 who have significantly improved her family’s income through ‘laksa and cendol’ business since 2015. Nor Salmi was one of the skills course participant run by Hijrah Training and Management, a training provider appointed by Perangsang Selangor to provide guidance on how to start a business, produce a delicious ‘laksa’ gravy and to make the perfect cendol mixture. The proceeds from sales of ‘laksa and cendol’ which could reach up to RM7,000 a month was enough to support her family and to cover her children’s school expenses. In addition, Nor Salmi also received equipments worth RM3,000 from Perangsang Selangor as assistance to start her business.

Next we headed to Selayang to meet a tailor and SES participant, Paezah Abu a 58 years old widow with three children who also managed to generate income from her home tailoring business at Blok Rumah Pangsa, Pandan Jaya. She started off by attending the skills training organised by Kamsiah Tailoring Academy and later received sewing machine assistance from Perangsang Selangor. Paezah is now earning approximately RM1,200 a month. Among her tailoring expertise are ‘baju kurung’, dresses, pants, ‘baju melayu’, children’s clothes and veil.

Both SES entrepreneurs were selected for the BERNAMA interview due to their success in business. Their experience and success story will be a morale booster and should be an eye-opener to young generations especially the unemployed to change their fate. As a Malay saying goes ‘where there is a will there will always be a way’.

22 October 2016 : Sekolah Kebangsaan (SK) Taman Universiti, Seri Kembangan, Selangor emerged as champions of the Raja Muda of Selangor’s Cup when they defeated SK Puchong Perdana 2-1 in the final at SUK Sports Club.

The prizes comprising a trophy, certificates and RM4,000 cash were presented by Selangor Raja Muda, Tengku Amir Shah.

The tournament was conducted in a league format with the top two teams from each of eight groups qualifying for a knockout round of the top 16 teams to enter the semi-finals followed by the final.

As runner-up, SK Puchong Perdana received RM3,000 while SK Sri Kelana and SK Seksyen 20, who finished third and fourth received RM2,000 and RM1,000, medals and certificates respectively.

Perangsang Selangor which contributed RM100,000 this year, was the main sponsor of the championship. YM Raja Dato’ Haji Idris Raja Kamarudin, Chairman of Perangsang Selangor and YB Tuan Shaari Amiruddin, EXCO for Youth Development and Sports, Culture and Entrepreneur Development were also present in this event.

27 August 2016 : Sekolah Menengah Kebangsaan (SMK) Tinggi Kajang has managed to beat hosts SMK La Salle Petaling Jaya 2-0 at the KPM Mini Stadium, SMK USJ 23. The opening match also marked the beginning of the Dato' Mokhtar Dahari Football Championship involving 576 under18s football players representing 32 teams from nine district across Selangor to compete for the third's edition title.

The Organising Chairman, Dato' Emran Kadir said, "The main objective of the tournament is to unearth new talents and unearth youth football players to become the next state players in order to bring back the glory days of the Selangor team in Malaysian football.

"When the Dato' Mokhtar Dahari Cup was first introduced in 2014, only two Districts Education Office were involved namely Petaling Utama and Damansara Perdana. But based on the advise of the Sultan of Selangor, Sultan Sharafuddin Idris Shah, the organising committee has expanded the tournament to all nine districts in Selangor since 2015," he added.

During the launch ceremony, Dato' Emran also received contribution worth RM150,000 from Perangsang Selangor as main sponsor of the tournament for the third consecutive year.

SMK Tinggi Kajang Retains Dato’ Mokhtar Dahari Cup

17 September 2016 : SMK Tinggi Kajang defended the Dato’ Mokhtar Dahari Cup after trouncing SMK Sultan Sulaiman Shah, Kuala Selangor 4-0 in the final match held at the Subang Jaya Municipal Council (MPSJ) Sports Complex.

SMK Tinggi Kajang took only 11 minutes to score their first goal via Nazrin Aiman Azmi. SMK Tinggi Kajang, which defeated SMK Meru 1-0 in the final last year, extended their lead in the 28th minute through Muhd Afiq Azhad Ramdzan and Aiman Ariff Suffian in the 34th minute for a 3-0 lead at half time. Fariq Ashraf Rohaizan’s goal in the 46th minute secured the win for SMK Tinggi Kajang to clinch the trophy, medal and a cash prize of RM10,000.

As runners-up, SMK Sultan Sulaiman Shah received a medal and a cash prize of RM7,000, which was presented by the State Education Director, Mohd Salleh Mohd Kassim.

A total of 32 secondary school teams from across Selangor participated in the third edition of the tournament involving youths under 18. Meanwhile, the Main Committee Chairman, Dato’ Emran Kadir said that last year a total of 47 players of the tournament were handed over to the Football Association of Selangor (FAS) for talent development with six absorbed into the Youth Cup squad.

Kumpulan Perangsang Selangor Berhad is the main sponsor of the tournament for three consecutive years with sponsorship worth RM150,000.00 under the Selangor Sports Stimulus (RSS) programme.

SPCS Air Conditioning Specialist Training Programme

1 April 2016 : Kumpulan Perangsang Selangor Berhad (Perangsang Selangor) organised the 3rd and final series of Selangor People Career Stimulus (SPCS) air-condition maintenance course conducted by Adimega Sdn Bhd as the training provider at Industrial Training Institute Kuala Lumpur (ITI KL), Jalan Kuchai Lama. A total of 15 job seeking youths and retirees who wished to increase their income have been selected to undergo the 14 days training. Participants were trained on how to repair air conditioners, essential business skills, marketing and managing accounts.

The first series was held on 3-8 November 2014, where 20 participants were trained at a cost of RM30,900 while the 2nd series held on 2-7 November 2015 also involved 20 participants at a cost of RM39,600. Overall, Perangsang Selangor has spent funds worth RM101,900 cost for the 3 courses.

At present, a number of participants have started their own business and able to generate a decent income and a few have secured a jobs related to air-conditioner maintenance earning attractive salary.

The closing ceremony was officiated by Mohd Ismail Zam Zam, Assistant Manager, Corporate Social Responsibility, Perangsang Selangor and attended by Ir Kamaruzaman Hj Ali, Managing Director of Adimega Sdn Bhd, Abdul Hadi Che Wail and lecturers of ITI KL.
