CONTRIBUTION TO ASPIRING ENTREPRENEURS

Ulu Kelang: Kumpulan Perangsang Selangor Berhad (Perangsang Selangor) donated flour mixer worth RM39,600 to 33 Bakery Course participants under the "Selangor People Career Stimulus" (SPCS) programme at Ria Academy Bakery Campus, Taman Melawati, Kuala Lumpur.
The presentation of flour mixer ceremony was officiated by Mustaffa Kamil Ayub, Board Member of Perangsang Selangor and witnessed by Mohamed Azmin Ali, Member of Parliament for Gombak as well as Mohd Fauzi Mohd Ghazali, Perangsang Selangor’s CSR Senior Manager.
"The machine contribution is part of Perangsang Selangor’s Corporate Social Responsibility initiative to help housewives and low-income groups to start their own business. We hope with the knowledge and skills acquired, they can generate income through the bakery business", said Mustaffa.
The recipients are participants of a 30-day Bakery Course. The overall cost for the course is about RM180,000.00 fully sponsored by Perangsang Selangor.

"I feel very fortunate to be given the opportunity to participate in the bakery course and also the flour mixer for free. My immediate plan is to start a cupcake business from home and promote it through Facebook (uli-uli cakes)" said Farah Izyan Adnan, 28.

Rahimah Ahmad Nuraini, 32 expressed "I am truly grateful to receive this flour mixer from Perangsang Selangor for my cake, cookies and net bread (roti jala)". Nuraina now earns about RM2,000.00 per month by selling cakes, biscuits and net bread in Shah Alam. Furthermore, Rahimah also plans to sell traditional cookies in conjunction with the Aidilfitri festive celebration.
SELANGOR PEOPLE CAREER STIMULUS (SPCS)
Perangsang Selangor spent over RM3.2 million to implement SPCS programmes to conduct free courses in skills enhancement and entrepreneurship development as well as on-job trainings with accommodation and meals provided to over 1,000 participants in Selangor.
In addition, Perangsang Selangor also spent RM159,393.00 to purchase livestock worth RM45,000, printing equipment worth RM45,000, sewing machines worth RM29,793 and flour mixer worth RM39,600 for trainees to initiate their own business in livestock entrepreneurship, quick print, tailoring and bakery.
The skills enhancement courses conducted were Marine Rating, Islamic Banking and Finance, Halal Management and Operations, Adobe Photoshop and Microsoft Applications. The Entrepreneurship Development courses that had been conducted were Fast Print, Tailoring, Livestock, Bakery and Haj Pilgrimage Guide (Mutawif).
