Ulu Kelang: Kumpulan Perangsang Selangor Berhad (Perangsang Selangor) donated flour mixer worth RM39,600 to 33 Bakery Course participants under the "Selangor People Career Stimulus" (SPCS) programme at Ria Academy Bakery Campus, Taman Melawati, Kuala Lumpur.

 

The presentation of flour mixer ceremony was officiated by Mustaffa Kamil Ayub, Board Member of Perangsang Selangor and witnessed by Mohamed Azmin Ali, Member of Parliament for Gombak as well as Mohd Fauzi Mohd Ghazali, Perangsang Selangor’s CSR Senior Manager.

 

"The machine contribution is part of Perangsang Selangor’s Corporate Social Responsibility initiative to help housewives and low-income groups to start their own business. We hope with the knowledge and skills acquired, they can generate income through the bakery business", said Mustaffa.

 

The recipients are participants of a 30-day Bakery Course. The overall cost for the course is about RM180,000.00 fully sponsored by Perangsang Selangor.

 

"I feel very fortunate to be given the opportunity to participate in the bakery course and also the flour mixer for free. My immediate plan is to start a cupcake business from home and promote it through Facebook (uli-uli cakes)" said Farah Izyan Adnan, 28.

 


 

Rahimah Ahmad Nuraini, 32 expressed "I am truly grateful to receive this flour mixer from Perangsang Selangor for my cake, cookies and net bread (roti jala)". Nuraina now earns about RM2,000.00 per month by selling cakes, biscuits and net bread in Shah Alam. Furthermore, Rahimah also plans to sell traditional cookies in conjunction with the Aidilfitri festive celebration.

 

SELANGOR PEOPLE CAREER STIMULUS (SPCS)

Perangsang Selangor spent over RM3.2 million to implement SPCS programmes to conduct free courses in skills enhancement and entrepreneurship development as well as on-job trainings with accommodation and meals provided to over 1,000 participants in Selangor.

 

In addition, Perangsang Selangor also spent RM159,393.00 to purchase livestock worth RM45,000, printing equipment worth RM45,000, sewing machines worth RM29,793 and flour mixer worth RM39,600 for trainees to initiate their own business in livestock entrepreneurship, quick print, tailoring and bakery.

 

The skills enhancement courses conducted were Marine Rating, Islamic Banking and Finance, Halal Management and Operations, Adobe Photoshop and Microsoft Applications. The Entrepreneurship Development courses that had been conducted were Fast Print, Tailoring, Livestock, Bakery and Haj Pilgrimage Guide (Mutawif).

January 2, 2015 : Kumpulan Darul Ehsan Berhad (KDEB) and Kumpulan Perangsang Selangor Berhad (Perangsang Selangor) have joined the Selangor State Corporations and Corporate Post-Flood programme for the humanitarian mission of the flood victims in Kelantan, Terengganu, Pahang and Perak.

 

The launching and cheque presentation ceremony was officiated by The Right Honourable Mohamed Azmin Ali, Chief Minister of Selangor. YM Raja Dato’ Idris Raja Kamarudin, Chairman of Perangsang Selangor presented KDEB’s donation of RM50,000 to Mohamed Azmin while Perangsang Selangor’s contribution of RM100,000 was presented by Mustaffa Kamil Ayub, Board of Director, Perangsang Selangor at the SUK Lobby, Bangunan Sultan Salahuddin Abdul Aziz Shah, Shah Alam.

 

Dato' Noordin Sulaiman, Selangor State Financial Officer, Dr Ahmad Yunus Hairi, Chairman of the Standing Committee on Islamic Affairs, Malay Customs & Heritage, Rural Development and Traditional Village, Dato' Teng Chang Khim, Chairman of the Standing Committee for Investment, Industry & Commerce, Small & Medium Industry and Transportation, Dr Daroyah Alwi, Chairman of the Standing Committee on Health, Welfare, Women and Family Development and senior state officials were present at the ceremony.

 

The contributions were part of the company’s Corporate Social Responsibility initiatives to help alleviate the people’s anguish who suffered huge losses due to floods that hit several states recently.

11 November 2017 : Perangsang Selangor Chief Operating Officer, Suzila Khairuddin and the Public Relations, Media and CSR team visited Pusat Tahfiz Darul Quran Ittifaqiyah, Kampung Datuk Keramat to hand over a cash contribution worth RM12,010. The school’s caretaker, Ustaz Mohd Zahid Mahmod received the contribution from the donation campaign carried-out by Perangsang Selangor employees.

CSR Perangsang Selangor Recognized Internationally

June 19, 2015 : Kumpulan Perangsang Selangor Berhad (Perangsang Selangor) has gained international recognition by winning Asia’s Top Social Empowerment Award twice at the Asia Responsible Entrepreneurship Award 2015 in conjunction with the Corporate Social Responsibility (CSR) International Summit 2015 held in Macau. 300 corporate firms from 32 countries in Asia participated under various categories and Perangsang Selangor was among the 22 organisations awarded as the winner of Asia Social Empowerment Award.

 

Asia Responsible Entrepreneurship Awards recognises corporations that championed CSR efforts in enhancing the social welfare of the local community. Perangsang Selangor through its CSR programme has contributed RM1.2 million for organising the Selangor Entrepreneurship Development Programme (SEDP). In addition, RM3.5 million was spent to implement the Selangor Sports Stimulus programme focusing on sports development such as bowling, cycling, badminton, squash, football and swimming as well as the Selangor Community Responsibility Stimulus programme for religious programmes, donation and contribution, event management and strategic cooperation programmes with non-governmental organizations (NGOs).

 

Asia Responsible Entrepreneurship Award was divided into six categories namely Social Empowerment, Investment in People, Health Promotion, Green Leadership, SME CSR and Responsible Business Leadership. The evaluation criteria include the efforts taken to assist those in need of capital to start a business. Single mother Nor Faezah Mohd Yatim is among those who had benefited from the SEDP scheme aimed at promoting entrepreneurship development. With the assistance of portable spa equipment by Perangsang Selangor, Faezah managed to earn RM2,000 monthly to cover her five children’s school expenses aged between 5-18 years old.

 

In 2014, Perangsang Selangor has provided assistance to 350 youths, graduates, unemployed, single mothers, pensioners and the disabled worth RM2.2 million. Previously known as the Selangor Graduates Stimulus Programme (SGSP), the high in demand courses offered are Livestocks, Fast Printing, Fast Foods (Cendol and Laksa), Motorcycle Maintenance, Building Contractor, Sewing, Cake Baking, Mutawif and Early Childhood Education.

Dato’ Mohktar Dahari Cup 2017

3 May 2017 : The Dato’ Mokhtar Dahari Cup Football Championship witnessed a total of 576 players representing 32 teams from nine districts throughout Selangor to contest for the fourth edition of the championship.

 

The opening ceremony was officiated by Selangor State Education Deputy Director, Shashim Shah Harun and attended by Chairman of the Championship, Datuk Emran Kadir and Board of Director of Perangsang Selangor, Mustaffa Kamil Ayub at SMK USJ 23, Subang Jaya.

 

“The main objective of the tournament is to identify and unearth young football talents so that they can be featured as state players and restore the glory of Selangor football team and Malaysia one day”, said Datuk Emran.

 

A total of 43 players have been tied up by under 19 state and football clubs including Selangor, PKNS, Johor Darul Takzim (JDT), Kuala Lumpur, Perak, Malacca and Negeri Sembilan. The 2017 edition involved students under the age of 18 years old from 10 district education offices throughout Selangor selected by District Schools Sports Council (MSSD).

 

Perangsang Selangor became the tournament’s main sponsor for the fourth consecutive year with a sponsorship of RM150,000 and 8 team jerseys for all quarter-finalists. The tournament champion will receive a cash prize of RM10,000 as well as medals, certificates, championship trophy while the runners-up will receive RM7,000, medals and certificates. Third and fourth place winners will receive RM5,000 and RM3,000 respectively with medals and certificates. In addition, there are also other awards given such as Best Player, Top Scorer, Best Goalkeeper and Best Supporting Team.

 

In conjunction with this year’s tournament, the organisers also conducted a Malaysian Professional Footballers’ Self-Management and Career Management Seminar to give an early exposure to Selangor youth footballers about the career and future of the sport.

December 2014 : Perangsang Selangor under its Corporate Social Responsibility programme contributed RM12,000 to Yayasan Al-Baghdadi for transportation cost of Adventures Al-Quran programme to Yala, Krabi and Koh Yao Yai, Thailand, RM10,000 to the Association of Indian Muslim Malaysia Goodwill Inspiration (MIMGI) for the the Al-Quran Recitation programme, RM5,000 to Nur Insiniah Welfare Club Selangor for the Information and Communications Technologies (ICT) programme for underprivileged students in Teluk Panglima Garang, RM5,000 to Sakinah Gulam for her husband’s treatment of chronic diabetic and thyroid disease, RM3,600 to Maahad Tahfiz Sabil Al Quran Al-Zein Lil Banat, Shah Alam for the motivational programme transportation cost to Ulu Langat, RM3,000 to Parent Teachers Association (PTA), SK Bandar Baru, Batang Kali as donations to 30 students and 30 facilitators for the Project C5 (UPSR 2014) and RM 3,000 to Mohd Nazri Hasan, escalator maintenance mechanic at Plaza Perangsang, to cover the cost of treatment and to purchase a wheelchair for his diabetic auntie.

 

Donations were presented by Mohd Fauzi Mohd Ghazali, Senior Manager, Corporate Social Responsibility, Perangsang Selangor to the recipients.
