Cycling Programme for Visually Challenged

Cycling Programme For Visually Challenged

The objectives of the event were:

  • To provide an avenue for the public to engage with visually impaired members of the community via tandem cycling.
  • To encourage the visually challenged to participate in cycling activities and build their confidence.
  • To promote a healthy lifestyle.

KPS collaborated with the Clever Speda Cycling Club to organise a 50 km cycling event Kayuhan Merentas Daerah or Explore with Your Heart, on 20 October 2019 at Shah Alam to support the visually challenged community. 70 cyclists from the Malaysian Association for the Blind ("MAB"), Universiti Teknologi MARA ("UiTM"), schoolchildren from Shah Alam and cycling enthusiasts from all over Selangor participated in the event. A total of RM16,678 was spent specifically for this programme.

We are proud to note that this programme marked the first of its kind with the visually impaired community. The activity demonstrated our vision for sustainability which goes beyond business performance and extends to our aspirations to strengthen and empower vulnerable sections of the society.
