Kumpulan Perangsang Selangor embraces boardroom diversity
- Group appoints two female directors to the Board to enhance gender diversity
Kuala Lumpur, Malaysia, 6 April 2018 – Diversified group Kumpulan Perangsang Selangor Berhad (KPS, Bursa: 5843; Bloomberg: KUPS:MK; Reuters: KPSB.KL) announced today the appointment of Madam Rita Benoy Bushon and Puan Norliza Kamaruddin as independent nonexecutive directors of KPS, effective 6 April, 2018.
The two appointments expanded the Board to ten members, from eight previously.
Madam Rita Benoy Bushon comes with a background in capital market, where she served for 23 years at the Employees Provident Fund (EPF). During her stint in EPF, she held numerous senior positions, namely Head of Equity Research, Head of External Portfolio Management, Head of Private Equity, Head of Corporate Surveillance, and Head of Corporate Planning. She also has amassed significant board experience in public listed companies including Land & General Bhd and KFC Holdings (M) Bhd.
In 2002, she co-founded Minority Shareholder Watchdog Group (MSWG) and led the organisation as Chief Executive Officer from 2009 till 2016. She is also an active international advocate of corporate governance, where she chaired two committees of the International Corporate Governance Network from 2011 to 2013. Madam Rita is currently the Regulatory & Trade Advisor to the Chemical Industries Council of Malaysia, and Strategic Advisor to London based Green & Smart Holdings plc.
Puan Norliza Kamaruddin is an award winning communications expert with more than 25 years of experience across variety of sectors including energy, finance, banking, aviation, telecommunications and hospitality. She specialises in various communications practices including reputation management, communications strategy, strategic planning, corporate and government stakeholder management, crisis communications, corporate social responsibility, branding, media relations and internal communications. Prior experience includes being the Global Head of Strategic Communications for PETRONAS and Country Head of Corporate Affairs at Standard Chartered in Malaysia.
She currently is the Managing Director in FTI Consulting, a global business consultancy firm listed in the New York Stock Exchange and serves on the Industrial Advisory Panel for Strategic Communications at Multimedia University Malaysia, and Board of Trustee for the Standard Chartered Foundation.
